My warmest and sincerest greetings and congratulations to the graduates and completers of School Year 2018-2019! My profound gratitude also to the school administrators, personnel, teachers, parents and all our stakeholders who conscientiously shared efforts to safeguard the triumphs of our school children.
This day marks a major milestone in your lives which we honor, and I am glad that you finally endure the race waving the banner of accomplishments and amazing experiences in schools. You never doubt that the smallest step can create the most sweeping change in your life. You must be proud of what you have achieved and remember those who have supported you to reach the ultimate goal. Your achievement is made more significant because it corresponds to the magnitude of the responsibilities you now have over those of others, those who have less.
As we have been told, “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much will be asked.” A lot more is demanded from you. A lot more is asked from you. And a lot more is expected from you. As graduates and completers, you must keep your eyes on the prize. You have a moral obligation, a mission and a mandate to do your part. If you want to have a deep impact on what matters to you, strive for the best. Invest yourself fully. Get close to that goal, but never compromise to maintain a perfect balance between your personal needs and your public needs – your duty to be of service to your community and your country – your duty to be of service to God and for humanity.
As what famous filmmaker, Steven Spielberg said: “Listen to that voice that tells you what you could do. Nothing will define your character more than that.” Be honest with yourself about what you think and how you feel about it, what you like and dislike, what delights you or angers you, brightens you or saddens you, and inspires you or discourages you.
The next stage of your life will surely be exciting. So, as you receive your respective diplomas or certificates from your excellent institution, and as you toil to confront greater challenges in the near future, bear in mind that none of these would mean anything essential if you have failed to learn the right virtues and acquire good values that will enable you to effectively conquer in your quest for a more consequential life.
Congratulations Batch 2019 and Mabuhay!
